BOLO: Revolve’s Top 20 Brands

This is part 2 of Revolve’s Top 20 Brands. If you haven’t read the first post then you should go read that before or after this one! It is linked HERE. I love researching brands and all of these Revolve brands are really popular right now so you should keep your eyes out for them. As always style and condition matter, so always do your research and look up comps. Knowing more about the history and background of brands that you are selling or looking for can give you a good idea of what you should look out for and who the target consumer may be with these brands.

6. For Love & Lemons

This brand started in 2009 by two best friends who have known each other since they were 12, Laura Hill and Gillian Kern. They parted ways after high school to pursue their college dreams and both coincidentally ended up in Australia doing internships. They moved back home after their internships and saved every dollar to start their dream company- For Love & Lemons. They wanted to create something that inspired, “woman unafraid to take risks, forge her own way and embrace a bit of adventure.” Many of their pieces have cut outs, deep neck lines, and short hems. They are beautifully crafted and have even expanded into kids clothing recently!

I have personally never found or owned anything from this brand, but many influencers and celebrities have been seen wearing their pieces. As you can see from the Poshmark listings above this brand can resell for a high dollar amount and I have seen people pay up for this brand and still make a really good profit, but as always do your research!

7. Free People

This brand was created in the 1970’s by a man named Dick Hayne in West Philadelphia. The brand at the time focused on a younger generation and from there his one store turned into many. Free People then turned into Urban Outfitters and they began doing a wholesale line because they had so much demand. They decided to split it into two separate businesses because of how well it was received. They then decided they wanted to focus on a consumer that was older than their original target market so they could appreciate the beauty of the clothing. Free People still does wholesale and they have 4 locations across the world- New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, and London.

I recently just did a blog post all about Free People and if I believe it is still worth reselling (linked HERE). I mentioned my experience with reselling the brand and some great items to look out for at the thrift store. The reselling market has fluctuated a lot with the brand, but go read my post if you are interested and want my opinion on it!

8. Golden Goose

This brand was created in 2000, but it wasn’t until recently that their shoes have become popular by a mass majority of people. Two young Venetian designers, Francesca Rinaldo and Alessandro Gallo, created this brand to combine modern style with vintage feel. These shoes are created to look vintage and worn in almost as if they have been passed down by generations. These shoes retail for around $500-$600 and the resale value is pretty close to that number as well.

The Superstar Sneaker is definitely their most popular, but many of the other styles are now becoming popular as well. This brand is very new to its popularity so if you are able to find a good deal these could make you a good return. There are now many fakes and replicas out there for much cheaper than the originals but there are still people who are looking for a good deal on these shoes.

9. Levi’s

This is the most popular jeans brand and has been around for longer than any other company of this Top 20 list. This brand was created in 1853 by Levi Strauss who was an immigrant from Bavaria. He opened up a dry goods company in San Fransisco, CA during the Gold Rush and saw that there was a need for item that was missing in the market- clothing built to endure anything. It wasn’t until 1936 that the Red Tab was first used on the back pocket of the 501 jeans which we can still see in the same spot today.

Levi’s are some of the most popular jeans out there and one of the most recent things people are doing are turning vintage jeans into cut off shorts. This has been really popular the past few years and since we are heading into summer I expect it to still be just as popular!

10. L*Space

This brand was launched in 2000 by Monica Wise as a swimwear brand. It still focuses on swimwear, but has expanded into other women’s clothing now as well. They are a leader in fashionable swimwear with each bikini piece selling for around $100. They have focused on not only making fashionable pieces, but pieces that fit into your daily lifestyle.

This brand is known for their swimwear, but now that they have expanded into clothing they have become even more popular. If you are able to find a matching bikini set you will be able to sell if for a higher dollar amount which stands true for any swimwear. I have never owned anything from this brand or resold it but I would pick up this brand if I was ever able to find it at a thrift store, consignment store, or through RA.
